Test: UBC 26-2, Test Method for Evaluation of Thermal Barriers
Equivalent tests: N/A
Testing Agent: Omega Point Laboratories
Date: 11/27/02
Substrate: 7/16" Oriented Strand Board (OSB)

Method: 14mil dry coverage of sample with Contego Passive Fire Barrier Latex on 36" X 36" piece of 7/16" Oriented Strand Board (OSB) with a splined joint down the centerline. Sample was then placed in a Horizontal Fire Resistance Furnace and subjected the standard UBC 7.1 Time Temp. Curve.

Criteria: Test is continued until the temperature on the untreated side of the test panel reaches an average 250 Degree F above ambient or until one of the thermocouples exceeds 325F.

Observations: Specimen achieved a 23 minute thermal Barrier Rating. The test is designed to measure the Thermal Barrier at 15 minutes but was allowed to continue until the unexposed side of the test panel reached the 250F average temp. This limit was reached after 23 minutes.
